Animal Intelligence 2.8 SR-1 & ADS 6.2x Updates
Animal Intelligence Software, Inc. considers both the
ADS update and the AI version 2.8 SR-1 update to be highly
recommended. You should download and install both the server
update as well as the client updates. If you choose not to
install either the ADS updates or AI version 2.8 SR-1, you will need to
contact AIS Client Service for special installation instructions.
Please read all the instructional steps on how to perform the AI &
ADS updates before beginning the update process. If you have any
questions, please contact AIS Client Support during normal support
hours for clarification and any assistance.

STEP 2:
Advantage Database Server version 6.2x Service Update
BRIEF: This
update from Extended Systems helps resolve various issues identified in
the previous version of Advantage Database Server 6.2. To perform
this update you must have access to the main server, have all users
exit all Animal Intelligence software applications, and stop the
Advantage service on your server. This ADS 6.2 Update replaces
the main executable for ADS as well as two configuration/driver DLL
files. For AI and ADS to function properly, the DLLs on their
server and the AI Client DLLs on each workstation must match (i.e., be
the same version). You MUST perform the ADS Client Update with
the AI 2.8 Update if you are performing the server update. Both
must be accomplished so that the DLLs match before allowing users back
into AI. For most systems, these updates should take
approximately 30 to 60 minutes to perform.

STEP 3:
AI version 2.8 SR-1 & Advantage Database Client version 6.2 Update
BRIEF: AIS,
Inc. considers this Extended Systems ADS Client update necessary to
support the ADS application running on your server. This update
will be applied to each workstation along with the latest version of
Animal Intelligence version 2.8 using the Auto-update feature added in
AI version 2.7. You MUST have downloaded and installed the ADS
version 6.2 update as well. AI 2.8 is the latest release of
Animal Intelligence which includes several updates to known
issues. You should have received via fax, the 2.8 Supplement
which documents the changes and known issues in AI version 2.8 SR-1.
You will need the unzip password, which accompanied the AI 2.8
Supplement in order to unzip and install this update once you have
downloaded it. You may also contact Animal Intelligence Client
Service support via fax, phone or email to obtain the password.
